On the 29th April 2021, Dialog Health organised a conference in partnership with the Brazilian Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology (SBGG) about the experience of the French Alzheimer's Village, a unique opportunity for the 37 Brazilian participants to deepen their knowledge of this innovative project.
Restoring normality to the daily life of people suffering from Alzheimer's disease is the main goal of Alzheimer's Villages, that are mixing urban planning and dementia care.

Two experts, Francis Lacoste, one of the founders of the Village, and Nathalie Grégoire, architect in charge of the project, presented the key stages of the project and reviewed the challenges faced in implementing this amazing facility for people suffering with Alzheimer's disease. Launched in June 2020, the Village Landais Alzheimer is the world's first Alzheimer's Village spearheaded by the public sector and is a new home for 120 people.

The very enriching discussions and the shared advice and tools allowed participants to think about the possible development of this alternative model of care in Brazil.

Participants also benefited from the pre-recorded content of the case study (eJourney) dedicated to the project. Visit www.e-journeys.com to discover our virtual case study "The Village Landais Alzheimer : reshaping dementia care".
