From 15 to 17 January 2024, we have been delighted to accompany
Alliage Care, a specialist in the management of healthcare establishments, to the Netherlands for a study mission focusing on new management approaches in the medico-social sector.
The first stage of this international training programme was the
Hogeweyk dementia village, a unique facility dedicated to people living with advanced dementia. We had the opportunity to find out how this innovative Alzheimer's village works, where the emphasis is on abilities rather than disabilities. This first day enabled us to discover an innovative approach to care, focusing on personalisation, autonomy and quality of life.
The following day, we met two key players in the Dutch social care sector: Pennemes and Actiz.
Visit 1:
PennemesUsing nature and the environment as partners in care, the teams at Pennemes and Het Mennistenerf have adopted an innovative five-stage approach, from improving air quality to introducing pet therapy. The benefits are many: affordable solutions, a positive impact on health, and a contribution to the fight against climate change.
Visit 2:
ActiZA professional association committed to the future of the organisation of care for the elderly and chronically ill, ActiZ strives to reduce bureaucracy, overcome staff shortages, stimulate innovation and protect the expertise of healthcare professionals.
Finally, for our last day of the study mission, we plunged into the inspiring world of
Buurtzorg, a homecare organisation founded by visionary nurse
Jos de Blok in 2006. With 1,000 teams in the Netherlands and expansion in France and Canada, Buurtzorg is reinventing home nursing! Buurtzorg operates on the basis of trust in professionals and a system based on individual responsibility, with autonomous teams negotiating with health insurers.
We would like to thank Alliage Care for their trust and for these inspiring moments of sharing.
