From April 8 to 12, 2013, Dialog Health organized a study tour, bringing together a delegation of Russian professionals eager to deepen their understanding of the French preschool education system. Designed to foster international exchange, the program served as a bridge between two educational approaches and highlighted the unique aspects of the French model.
The delegation included 18 directors and coordinators of preschool institutions from key regions of Russia, such as Moscow, Samara, Irkutsk, and Novosibirsk. Participants were experienced professionals from kindergartens and daycare centers affiliated with Russian Railways, as well as managers of innovative educational projects and experts in organizational development.

The study tour began with an introduction to the structure and regulations of preschool education in France. Delegates visited a municipal kindergarten to learn about administration, funding, and programs for children aged 3 to 7. Discussions focused on the importance of public policies in ensuring equal access to quality education.

Exploring Montessori pedagogy
A visit to the private Montessori School in Paris allowed participants to explore an innovative approach emphasizing autonomy and hands-on learning. They toured learning spaces, observed bilingual workshops, and discussed key Montessori principles with school leaders. The visit showcased effective practices, like tailoring tools to meet children’s individual needs.

Corporate daycare: a public-private partnership
One of the highlights was a visit to a corporate daycare, illustrating a successful collaboration between employers and families. This co-financing model provides practical solutions for working parents while ensuring high-quality education. Participants explored management practices, educational programs, and the benefits for both businesses and families.

Engaging with French institutions
Throughout the program, the delegation met with leaders from French educational institutions, including kindergarten directors and social project coordinators. These meetings covered management strategies, teaching methods, and organizational practices that define the French system.

Outcomes and future collaboration
This study tour offered the delegation valuable insights into preschool education in France, combining practical learning with international exchange. Dialog Health continues to support such initiatives, fostering global collaboration and the exchange of best practices in education.
