AN EDUCATIONAL JOURNEY ABOUT VALUE-BASED HEALTHCARE IN SWEDEN AND FRANCE
Executive Study Tour

Stockholm & Paris
September 16 to 23, 2023

Why Sweden?
The Nordic model, particularly that of Sweden, is frequently cited as an example, especially on its medical and social side. Thanks to a proactive public policy, Swedes live longer in good health and at home. Counties and municipalities are at the forefront of this success, offering a wide range of services.

The Swedish healthcare system has a strong emphasis on value, using payment methods such as bundled payment and new technologies like telehealth to improve patients' care experiences. Coordination across the care continuum is a reality in Sweden, where patients' pathways are organised on the national territory.
Why France?
The French health care system is one of universal health care largely financed by government national health insurance. In its 2000 assessment of world health care systems, the World Health Organisation found that France provided the "close to best overall health care in the world".

The French government encourages the improvement of care coordination across the continuum of care. Different specialised pathways are operating, providing excellent and accessible care to the population. The limitation of hospitalisations is a priority that encourages the development of comprehensive primary care services and of a unique hospital at home system.
