From from October 23rd to November 3rd a delegation of 14 executives from Australia embarked on the SAGE UK 2022 study tour, looking to gain fresh insights into care delivery for their organisations.

This program was designed to provide a professional insight into the delivery of care and services to UK citizens, and British models of Seniors Care and housing.

The focus of this tour was to investigate the delivery of care services to older people and senior citizens living in the United Kingdom.

Over the course of ten days, the delegates visited ten separate facilities in London and Edinburgh owned and operated by different organisations.

Each day focused on a different theme, from integrated communities to memory care. The visits, to establishments which were selected for their excellence, gave a full understanding of care for older people in th UK.

During the study program , the delegation visited public and private organisations, which provided both a regional and national perspective.

The organisations highlighted successful commercial models in the field, but also gave an overview of the current system of care for the elderly in the UK.

When it comes to an aging world population, Australia is no exception, and as it awaits the the Royal Commission outcomes implementation, it is imperative that we investigate different ways of meeting the challenges of the future.

The program in London and Edinburgh provided an ideal forum to inform and educate in the best way possible – to look at and share the international experience.

The study program to the UK provided an opportunity to form lasting collegial friendships, both international and domestic, created a mechanism for increased dialogue among professionals on the direction of our industry, and allowed participants to gain new perspectives on age care to bring back home.
