On Monday 3 June 2024, the delegation, made up of 27 members of medico-social structures, began the first stage of the ATHOM workshop, entitled "Boosting your architectural project within a housing logic".
This workshop aims to enrich and energise the participants' architectural projects. AFIPH (Association Famille de l'Isere pour Personnes Handicapées) works to promote the social, professional and educational inclusion of people with disabilities, offering a range of services and programmes tailored to their specific needs.
In the company of Caroline Vaillant de Guelis, an architect specialising in adapted housing at Atelier AA, the afiph began the training with a presentation of the housing approach and a tour of the "Les Sapins" medico-educational institute (Association Le Clos du Nid, Lozère).
The Association Le Clos du Nid in Lozère is an organisation dedicated to welcoming, supporting and integrating people with disabilities. Founded in 1957, the association runs a number of medico-social establishments, including medico-educational institutes, residential homes and nursing homes. Le Clos du Nid offers a range of services and programmes designed to promote the independence, well-being and social inclusion of people with disabilities, adapting to the specific needs of each individual.
The following day, our delegation continued its study mission at the heart of inclusion and discovered several innovative care establishments in terms of architecture, organisation and
technology to promote inclusion in the field of
mental disability. The morning was spent at the Foyer La Colagne run by the
Association Le Clos du Nid in Lozère. The aim of this establishment is to support the individual projects of its residents by promoting social integration and quality of life.
Support is provided in the context of a diversified housing offer.
In the afternoon, the delegation visited the
FAM de l'Enclos of the
Association Les Résidences Lozériennes d'Olt for a presentation and tour of the premises, including shared and private
living areas. Refurbished in May 2005, this nursing home accommodates 32 people in four living residences.
After theory, it's time for practice! The 27 members of
AFIPH went to
Atelier AA - Architecture humaine in Montpellier for an
interactive workshop aimed at imagining their future innovative medico-social establishment. It was a perfect echo of the first two days of professional meetings held as part of the mission to rethink the workplace and improve ergonomics.
The last day of the
workshop took place once again at the architectural firm
Atelier AA - Architecture humaine (Montpellier) for a creative workshop aimed at developing different scenarios for the construction of a future
medico-social establishment and prototyping the layout of a space. In the company of
Florence Mathieu, social design engineer and founder of the start-up
Aina, the participants were able to develop different scenarios for the construction of a future medical-social establishment.
This study mission provided a valuable
opportunity to exchange ideas and draw inspiration from innovative approaches aimed at improving the quality of life of people with disabilities, their families and carers.
